We dream of a world where musicians run the music industry.
Our mission is to gather the best musicians in Los Angeles under one roof, where they can dream together, create together, and work together. Through the empowerment of the creative engine of the music industry, Kit House will put cultural capital back in the hands of musicians, creating the negotiating power they need to stay in Los Angeles.
Kit House is in the process of applying for a 501c7, a tax exempt status used by organizations like country clubs and fraternities. Its sole purpose is to serve its members by providing opportunities for like-minded individuals to meet each other.
FAQs
Where is Kit House? As we get this club off the ground, we are being hosted by our good friends at Studious Coworking, in the heart of LA Chinatown. We’re grateful to be a part of what is already a wonderful third space for community minded entrepreneurs.
We hope to stay in Chinatown as we grow.
What can we expect to experience? We are doing what we’re calling A La Carte Summer. We’re testing programming ideas, figuring out what this community needs, and raising money to move into a space of our own.
We’ll be hosting a minimum of one event per week - showcases, workshops, masterclasses, music appreciation events, mixers, and jam nights.
We’ll also be partnering with other venues around Los Angeles who are like-minded in their support of artists and their collaborators.
Our future permanent location will dramatically increase our offerings, from rehearsal rooms to content spaces to a rentable venue.
Why a social club? For music industry professionals, there is no divide between “coworkers” and “friends”. The size and quality of your network directly impacts the opportunities you see.
However, the #1 music city in the world does not have a third space for musicians. There is no cafe, bar, venue, or event where we know we can go to meet quality people on a regular basis and foster new friendships.
Kit House is applying for a 501(c)7 tax designation, the same one used by country clubs, to create a physical location musicians know they can feel at home.
